Art Talk – Pablo Perra – solo artist and half of ‘Goodleg Toys’

Pablo Perra - head-shot

Pablo Perra entered the art game as a child by making his own playable sculpture, to fill in for his parents refusal to buy him a Saint Seiya toy. Later as a teen Pablo entered the world of street art to add some spice to his small-town boredom.

As an adult Pablo studied at the Art Academy in Milan and shortly after graduating escaped to Berlin.

In Berlin Pablo promptly flourished in his new surroundings, gaining press and praise for his many solo artistic ventures – large sculptural works, cartoons, fine art and everything in between.

Later Pablo came into contact with Germany’s ‘King-o-Toys’, Mr. Lucas Rellecke – owner of the ‘Toy Sector‘ shop in Berlin. Almost immediately the two bonded over a shared love of pop-culture ephemera, art and vintage plastic.

Shortly after Pablo and Lucas’s meeting ‘Goodleg Toys‘ was born, a collaborative artistic outlet between the pair that presented Pablo with a creative outlet unique from his solo work.

Art Talk – Mike Marinello AKA ‘Blurble’

Blurble - logo

Mike Marinello aka ‘Blurble‘ is a self described 1980’s child, and the day-glo-hyper-colour-gross aesthetic of the latter part of that decade shines through in all his art.

‘Blurble’s most well known creation(s), Sparrow and his companion Foxtrot, are an allegory for the father-son dynamic, an ode to adventure and a visual stoke of pop-art joy. So far they exist not only as 2D creations, but also as a 3d resin work via the recently released Sparrow resin.

As an artist ‘Blurble’ is a well respected and in-demand. He is also a well regarded collaborator having worked with ‘Radioactive Uppercut‘, ‘Bad Teeth Comics‘, ‘Ministry of Kongz‘,  ‘DuBose Art‘, ‘Tru Tek‘ and many many more.

Retroband - logo

Aaron Moreno established his brand ‘Retroband‘ for one reason – to make the toys he wished he had when growing up. An example of artistic DIY fandom that would be close to many a pop culturalists heart.

What sets Aaron and ‘Retroband’ apart from other players in the scene is perfect execution in all aspects: figure design, figure creation, art work, card-backs, and packaging; all done with Aaron’s almost OCD eye to detail. This commitment to perfection has caught the eyes of fans worldwide, leading to ‘Retroband’ figures selling out within a day or two of release, and garnering major acclaim.
