Art Talk – Johnny Ngai of ‘Overload Dance’

Over Load Dance - LOGO 001

Johnny Ngai of ‘OverloadDance‘ is a Hong Kong based artist whose art philosophy centers around the notion of big is beautiful. Or, in Johnny’s words,

I want to deliver a message that fat people can also dance the way they like. The figure can’t restrain oneself. It’s about freedom and fulfills personal desire. There is no actual standard about beauty“.

Johnny works in a variety of media: street art, sculptures, digital and even classics like painting. Indeed, he is one of those rare artists with not only a unique aesthetic, but also the ability to create anything. And i mean anything.

Nerviswr3k importantly is an artist not afraid to pass on his knowledge to others, having recently participated as teach in the ‘Suburban Vinyl – Artist Series Workshop’. He is also a willing collaborator, having worked with Bob Conge, Motorbot, Jay 222, TaskOne and many others.

WBM - square logo

Chris Moore’ urge to create is innate, stemming from child-hood days spent kit-bashing old ‘GI Joes’ into unique monstrous creations. A passion he kept as a hobby for many years.

Chris only began formally selling his works a few years ago after being constantly hassled by close friends who wanted to own some of Mr. Moore’s unique art.

Whilst being young to the art hustle, Chris style, passion and creativity has led to him being contracted to do commission work for companies such as ‘Kirk Von Hammett Toys’, and gaining a loyal and devoted following.
